Ludlow is a large financial planning business in the North West of England that puts its clients and their financial peace of mind first. That’s why it has such a strong reputation for client service and its 2000+ clients collectively entrust Ludlow with more than £1 billion of assets. Its consistent organic growth has been bolstered by 13 acquisitions, integrated between 2008 and 2018, which have helped create a network of six regional offices.
We invested £8m to support the management buyout of Ludlow. We provided a combined debt and equity package to fund the MBO, taking a majority stake alongside the incumbent management team, who rolled over the majority of their value.
Ludlow has a clear strategy to continue to build its regional focus and assets under management both organically and through a series of additional strategic acquisitions. We are supporting this with both input from our portfolio origination team, who are working alongside the Board of Ludlow to originate acquisition opportunities directly, and also through our adviser network. We have also supported the development of the Board, working with management to recruit a Chairman, FD and COO.
