Guy Blackburn and Ed Wass recognised as Real Deals Future 40 Investment Leaders
Mobeus is delighted to announce that both Guy Blackburn, Portfolio Partner, and Ed Wass, Portfolio Director, have been listed in the Real Deals Future 40 Investment Leaders list, published today and celebrating investment professionals that led noteworthy exits during 2020.
Over the last 18 months to date, Mobeus has executed nine full and three partial realisations with an average MoC of 3.5x. These dynamic, ambitious companies have combined revenues of over £275 million and employ over 1,500 people. We are incredibly proud of all the teams and businesses involved: from generating a 30% IRR on the sale of Advantedge, which was the first exit from our current Institutional Fund; through exiting Vectair after almost 15 years and achieving an 8.3x money multiple; to the successful AIM flotations of both Virgin Wines and Parsley Box.
Real Deals said, “Mobeus completed a flurry of exits in 2020/21 including: ATG, Access-IS, Advantedge and Bourn Hall. Mobeus’s Ed Wass and Guy Blackburn both played a key role in each of these investments. With both dealmakers’ support, these Mobeus investee businesses benefited from a focus on professionalisation and sustainable growth which allowed them to respond robustly to the pandemic and stand up to the enhanced scrutiny of a Covid exit.”
Clive Austin, Mobeus Partner, added, “I am very proud to work with talented and experienced professionals like Ed and Guy. This recognition is very well-deserved. It is hugely rewarding to have partnered with these twelve entrepreneurial companies in their transformational journeys to create more than £550 million of shareholder value. Ed and Guy have played a key part in this.”
